Position Summary:
The Human Resources Director will lead the strategic functioning of the HR department, ensuring the alignment of HR initiatives with company goals. The Human Resources Director is responsible for recommending, developing, and implementing HR programs that elevate our human capital management practices and serves as a strategic partner to the leadership team. The HR Director is primarily accountable for the oversight of compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations. This position guides and supervises the Senior HR Generalist directly who will partner with the HR Director to implement and execute HR programs.
Duties:
- Evaluate and advise leadership on the development, implementation, and enhancement of HR programs to support strategic needs.
- Leads the HR department to enhance organizational capability and effectiveness, with a focus on continuously developing the Sr. HR Generalist.
- Support tactical HR processes and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements and regulations, including I-9s, EEO-1 reporting, OSHA reporting, Workers’ Compensation, recordkeeping, FMLA, ADA accommodations, etc.
- Manage all HR programs including Recruitment, Onboarding, Compensation, Leave & Benefits, Retention, Policies and Procedures, Compliance, Training & Development, Performance Management, Separations, and Employee Engagement.
- Provide necessary support and assistance in payroll processing, ensuring timely and accurate compensation.
- Develop comprehensive benefit plans for annual approval of CEO. Oversees administration of all benefit plans.
- Direct preparation and distribution of written and verbal information on benefits programs such as insurance plans, pension plans, paid time off, bonus pay, and special employer-sponsored activities.
- Investigate accidents as needed for insurance carriers including Workers Compensation.
- Conducts wage survey in labor market determining competitive wage rates.
- Responsible for data integrity in HRIS. Oversee the record-keeping of insurance coverage, retirement plan, and personnel files such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
- Organize and administer company-wide performance management program. Recommend, direct, evaluate and participate in personnel development and training programs.
- Oversee, direct, and facilitate employee/supervisor problem solving and coaching relationship and discipline process.
- Investigate complex employee relations matters and support the Sr. HR Generalist in investigations, partnering with outside Counsel as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain HR metrics and continuously seek to improve and evolve practices.
- Stay informed of current HR best practices, trends, regulations, and laws.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in the Property Management industry
- Professional HR certification, such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Significant experience with employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation, talent management, organizational development, payroll and employment practices
- In-depth working knowledge of multi-state labor laws and HR best practices
